Philosophy

At Uplands Kindergarten we believe that each child is unique.  Children are encouraged to be creative and expressive and explore their ideas.  The teaching team are committed to providing a safe, secure, happy environment where all children are supported as they grow to be independent and competent learners. 

We seek to develop a strong partnership with parents/whanau and encourage their participation in our kindergarten community. We draw from Christian values and teachings with the hope that this will provide for children, a sound foundation for life. Our programme is based on Te Whaārki – New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum.
